I believe fruitful and enriching relationships are possible, in our homes and in our governments, and the key to achieving this is understanding ourselves and each other better.
My life and career have been a journey of healing wounds, exploring connections, and fostering communication to help people create the relationships they are yearning for.
Through the years this has taken many forms from creating programs for individuals overcoming addiction, helping fighting couples come back to one another in marriage therapy, facilitating parents and their adult children to heal generational trauma through Generations Dialogue Workshops and working with groups and communities to build trust and understanding through Communologue.
The current volatility of the politics in my own country has inspired me to focus on supporting individuals and organizations working to improve the American political environment.
In my musings I offer a perspective on current events through the eyes of a relationship therapist, highlighting people and organizations I believe are working with integrity and courage – not necessarily to eliminate conflict but to explore issues with civility and respect, moving us toward solutions that address our problems rather than seeing one another as the problem.
Taking action together, we can create a better world for ourselves and for generations to come.
